2nd Friday Art Walk

The 2ndFriday Artwalk takes place in Carrboro and Chapel Hill from 6:00 - 9:00 pm on the second Friday of every month.

The ArtsCenter

The ArtsCenter exists in order to inspire artistic creativity and to enrich the lives of people of all ages. The vision of The ArtsCenter is to create an educational environment that provides opportunities, inspiration and tools to people of all ages and skill levels to participate in the arts.

Bike Month

Carrboro promotes biking! It was the first community in North Carolina to be designated a Silver Level Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists.

Carrboro Farmer’s Market

Carrboro Farmers' Market, now in our 35th. year, is located on the Carrboro Town Commons next to Carrboro Town Hall at 301 West Main St. in Carrboro. Our Mission The Carrboro Farmers' Market aims to create and sustain a vibrant and innovative market that supports our local farmers and artisans, while extending the benefits of local food to the greater community.

Poetry In Carrboro

From poetry readings during Town Council Meetings to the West End Poetry Festival held every year, poetry in Carrboro plays an important role in our community. Poetry enhances and enriches the lives of all Americans and as an essential part of the arts and humanities, affects every aspect of life in America today, including education, the economy, and community pride and development. Poetry has produced some of the nation's leading creative artists and has inspired other artists in fields such as music, theatre, film, dance, and the visual arts.

Pride Month

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ+) Pride Month is celebrated nationally and locally each year in the month of June. Through our Pride month events, we affirm community values ensuring that all residents, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, are treated with respect and dignity.
