Third Annual Carrboro Community Art Project
September / October2012

The Carrboro Arts Committee invites you to participate in the
Third Annual Carrboro Community Art Project!

We will show art created by people who live, work, or play in Carrboro. Your artwork will be shown in the Century Center or Carrboro Town Hall during September & October 2012 to coincide with the 15th Annual Carrboro Music Festival held on Sunday, September 30th, 2012. We'll also have receptions at the Century Center and Town Hall during the 2ndFriday Artwalks.

Since we are timing this year's Carrboro Community Art Project with the Music Festival we are suggesting a theme of music in your art. Perhaps you have a great photo from a past Music Festival or one of your grandmother playing banjo on the porch. Maybe you have a painting or drawing influenced by listening to Paul Simon's music. How about a music poster you created for an event? You get the idea.

If you can't come up with anything music related, that's okay too. We don't want to stifle your creativity.

As long as you live, work or play in Carrboro you are eligible. There are other rules about size and such but if your piece fits within the rules it will be accepted.

We will accept submissions on Saturday, September 8 from 10 am until 1 pm at the Century Center, at 100 North Greensboro St. in Carrboro.

The opening reception will be held on September 14 at the Century Center and Carrboro Town Hall in conjunction with the 2ndFriday ArtWalk. Participating artists are asked to bring finger food (no utensils needed stuff) and/or beverages.
