UPDATE 8:10 a.m. -- from Orange Water and Sewer Authority
OWASA is repairing a leaking water line on Jones Ferry Road in Carrboro.
The purpose of this bulletin is to provide a prompt update to our community partners with the best available information. Due to the nature of repairs, the situation may change, and we appreciate your understanding and patience. If necessary, OWASA will notify the public and news media.
Water line repairs normally take 4 to 6 hours to complete, but the actual duration depends on conditions and repairs may take more or less time. An update will be provided when repairs are completed or, if necessary, when additional information is available.
WATER SERVICE
The water has been shut off to complete the repair:
0 hydrants will be affected.
1 customer will be affected.

TRAFFIC
Trough traffic will be maintained.
STORM WATER
Measures are being taken to control the runoff of sediment into storm drains which discharge into creeks and streams. Residents may notice sediment in the street and cloudy water in ditches and streams around the area of the break.
An update will be provided when repairs are completed or, if necessary, when additional information is available.
