CARRBORO, NC – Mayor Barbara Foushee proclaims Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, as Community School for People Under Six 55th Anniversary Celebration Day.
The Community School for People Under Six (CSPU6) has been a cornerstone of early childhood education in Carrboro/Chapel Hill for 55 years, nurturing the minds, spirits and hearts of children in the area.
Since its founding in 1970, the school has committed itself to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and positive environment where children are encouraged to explore, grow and discover their unique potential.
The Town of Carrboro recognizes the profound role that CSPU6 has played in shaping our community and fostering a sense of belonging and unity among families, educators and neighbors.
As we celebrate this 55th anniversary, we honor the legacy of growth, innovation, and support that the school has provided, and we look forward to its continued success for generations to come.
