Inclusive Carrboro Communications and Community Outreach Plan 
The Council adopted a plan of action and strategies to increase access to information, resources and participation in civic processes by the entire Carrboro community with renewed focus on people of color, immigrant, refugee and other marginalized communities. 

Update from Chief Schmidt on COVID-19 
Carrboro Fire Chief Dave Schmidt provides regular updates on the Town’s COVID-19 response. This update included information on reporting violations to public health mandates including mask requirements and physical distancing. For non-emergency reports, the public may call the Orange County COVID-19 Hotline at 919-245-6111 to leave a voicemail. Orange County Health staff actively monitor the voicemail and return calls Monday through Friday. For violations of NC Phase 2 restrictions involving mass gatherings (the limits are 10 people for indoor or 25 for outdoor), call 911. FY20 Financial Update 
The Council received an update on FY20 revenues and expenditures to date.

CARES Act Grant Expenditure Plan
The Council approved a funding plan that includes $180,000 for rental assistance to residents experiencing economic hardships due to COVID-19. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act is an economic stimulus bill passed by the U.S. Congress.

Minority Business Roundtable Report
The Council received the findings and recommendations as a result of the discussions held during the Minority Business Roundtable meetings held in July. Findings included the need to build and foster relationships/partnerships with BIPoC (black, Indigenous and people of color organizations) in Carrboro and Chapel Hill. 

Mural Update - End Racism Now
The Council received an update on the Town’s pursuit of approval to allow an ‘End Racism Now’ street mural to be painted in the street right-of-way for Laurel Avenue adjacent to the Town Commons. The Council approved moving forward with painting the anti-racism message on the parking lot adjacent to Town Hall as soon as possible while awaiting traffic safety approvals for painting Laurel Avenue.
