Wednesday,  Feb. 19, 2025 WINTER WEATHER UPDATE -- Carrboro’s administrative offices will delay opening on Thursday, Feb. 20, until 11:30 a.m. 

• All Carrboro Recreation, Parks and Cultural Resources programs scheduled for Wednesday have been canceled.
• Solid waste collections are canceled on Thursday and Friday while Carrboro Public Works crews respond to the storm.

Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025 WINTER WEATHER UPDATE -- According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, a winter storm is coming to our area Wednesday morning into Thursday. 

Solid waste collections are canceled on Thursday and Friday while Carrboro Public Works crews brine roadways and make other preparations for the storm, as well anticipated response following the storm. Further updates will be provided on any other town services affected. 

There is the potential for a combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Expected cold temperatures have the potential to prolong ice-related travel impacts, with black ice and refreeze concerns lasting through the weekend.
 
 Residents are advised to prepare now for hazardous travel conditions Wednesday and Thursday.

• Town of Carrboro Public Works is responsible for responding and reducing winter weather related roadway hazards. Public Works crews are applying brine throughout town. This process helps prevent snow and ice from bonding to pavement, making it easier to plow off.
