Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025 WINTER WEATHER UPDATE -- Carrboro’s administrative offices will delay opening on Thursday, Feb. 20, until 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025 WINTER WEATHER UPDATE -- According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, a winter storm is coming to our area Wednesday morning into Thursday.
Solid waste collections are canceled on Thursday and Friday while Carrboro Public Works crews brine roadways and make other preparations for the storm, as well anticipated response following the storm. Further updates will be provided on any other town services affected.
There is the potential for a combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Expected cold temperatures have the potential to prolong ice-related travel impacts, with black ice and refreeze concerns lasting through the weekend.
Residents are advised to prepare now for hazardous travel conditions Wednesday and Thursday.
