CARRBORO, N.C. – The Town of Carrboro’s Street Resurfacing and Rejuvenation Project is underway this summer with improvements aimed at accessibility and infrastructure.
Starting the first week of August, the project will target street resurfacing for sections of E. Braxton Foushee Street, E. Poplar Avenue, Fidelity Street, Lindsay Street, Roberson Street, Rocky Point, Tar Hill Drive, and Wood Walk Court.
During the Project
- Please observe all signage and flaggers.
- Be aware of all workers and equipment in the street and please drive slowly and carefully.
- Please do not park on street until work is complete and your entire road has been paved and stripped. If you cannot avoid parking on the street, please be prepared to move your vehicle upon request when work is being performed on your street.
- Please keep yard debris out of street/curb.
- Residents may be inconvenienced by the project work. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation during the period of improvement.

Carrboro’s 2025 Street Resurfacing Project includes improvements to 27,574 square yards of roadways. Work includes pavement milling, resurfacing, installation of a new sidewalk on Roberson Street and related construction activity such as curb ramp improvements, manhole adjustments and pavement markings.
The project will begin with improvements aimed at accessibility and infrastructure. The initial phase focuses on upgrading sidewalk ramps to meet ADA compliance standards and repairing existing curb and gutter systems. The final phase will center on street resurfacing.
