BOARD OF ALDERMEN MEETING SUMMARY
REQUEST FROM VISITORS AND SPEAKERS FROM THE FLOOR:
- Horace Lambert spoke about an affordable housing project. The board asked staff to have a follow up report within a month.
- Meredith Stern spoke to the board about drivers ed courses using her neighborhood for learning purposes. The neighborhood has no sidewalks. The board asked staff to reach out to NCDOT and see if the course can be moved to a neighborhood with sidewalks.
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF CONTINUED PARTICIPATION IN WATCH FOR ME NC 2018:
The board agreed to continue working with the “Watch For Me NC” campaign.

UPDATE FROM OWASA STAFF ON THE AGUA VISTA ADVANCED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE INITIATIVE:
Todd Taylor from OWASA addressed the board on the upcoming Agua Visa advanced metering project and presented an informational video on how OWASA plans to replace current meters with more advanced meters.
UPDATE ON COMMUNICATIONS PLAN:
Communications Manager Rachel Heggen gave the board an update on the town’s communications plan.
