What's Happening in Town

The Carrboro Board of Aldermen officially adopted the VHB parking study as the Carrboro Parking Plan and directed staff to begin implementation.   The plan calls for education through better signage and wayfinding, encouragement with better lighting and sidewalks, enforcement of time limited spaces,  and the annual evaluation of the parking in the downtown.  The plan also emphasizes  the opportunities for shared parking in the downtown.  The Board identified sharing as a high priority and directed staff to work with property owners to create shared parking whenever possible.  A copy of the plan can be found at http://www.townofcarrboro.org/1061/Parking-Study
