    Kids Yoga NEW!

Kid's Yoga allows children to use a lot of energy, make fun and silly noises, relax and develop concentration skills all at the same time! When yogis first developed the asanas many thousands of years ago, they still lived close to the natural world and used animals and plants for inspiration-the sting of a scorpion, the grace of a swan, the wings of a butterfly, the strong, tall stature of a tree. When children imitate the movements and sounds of nature, they have a chance to get inside another being and imagine taking on its qualities. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. In this class, we will approach the yoga asanas through active story-telling and playful imitation of the natural world. Yoga is an uplifting, noncompetitive, and fun way for kids to build strength, spirit, and self-esteem!.
